Cold mirrors , Hot mirrors 

Cold mirrors and hot mirrors are used to separate the energy beam into its visible and infrared components without fearing of heat build-up. Cold and hot mirrors are mostly applied in projection and illumination.

Cold Mirrors: The visible spectrum is reflected  while the infra red is transmitted.

 

Hot Mirrors: The infrared spectrum is reflected while the visible light is transmitted
